“Spanish Romance”, also known as “Romance Anonimo”,  “Estudio en Mi de Rubira (Study in E by Rubira)”,  “Romance de Espana”,  “Romance of the Guitar”, “Romanza” and “Romance d’Amour”,  is a world-famous piece for guitar of uncertain origins and authorship.  It has been variously attributed to Antonio Rubira, David del Castillo, Francisco Tarrega, Fernando Sor, Daniel Fortea, Miguel Llobet, Antonio Ceno, Vincente Gomez and Narcisco Yepes.

Suspected of originally being a solo instrumental guitar work in the style of late 19th century Parlour music in Spain or South America, it has a closed three-part form: the first in the minor key, the second in the major key and the third being a restatement of the first.
